Situated in the historic fishing village of Catterline, perched on cliffs overlooking the bay and harbour, The Creel Inn is set among some of North East Scotland's most beautiful coast line, yet only 25 minutes drive from Aberdeen (4 miles from Stonehaven).

We offer "Seafood specialities & much… much… more", in both restaurant and lounge, prepared to the highest standard from the freshest local produce (our lobster and crab are caught in Catterline Bay), complemented by our friendly team and welcoming ambience, designed to guarantee you a dining experience never to be forgotten and savoured time and time again.

Soup of the day

 Crab soup    

 House speciality made with local partens.   

      Smoked Haddock & Leek Fishcake   

      Smoked haddock and leek fishcake topped with a poached duck egg and hollandaise sauce.

 Cajun Prawns   

 King prawns marinated in cajun spices served with a mango salad, drizzled with a chilli and lime dressing.        

 Scallops   

 Seared scallops served with grilled Stornoway black pudding and celeriac puree.

    Chicken Liver & Bacon Parfait   

    Chicken liver and bacon parfait served with toasted brioche, onion marmalade and dressed salad.   

    Crottin Goats Cheese and Beetroot Salad     

    Crottin goat's cheese served with beetroot, herb croutons, mixed leaves and drizzled with a balsamic reduction.     

 Mussels of the day on the specials board.     

 

Main Courses

 Beer Battered Haddock   

 Haddock fillet coated in a real ale batter served with chips and homemade tartare sauce.   

    Whole Plaice   

    Grilled whole plaice served with sautéed potatoes and kale, drizzled with a citrus butter..   

    Sea Bream and Crab Bon Bon's

Seared fillet of sea bream served with crab bon bon's, sautéed pak choi, dauphinoise potatoes and a chilli and coriander butter.     

      Monkfish      

     Baked monkfish wrapped in Parma ham served on a bed of roast butternut squash cous cous and served with a lemon and herb cream sauce.     

 Seafood Platter for Two     

  Platter of the day, accompanied by homemade chunky chips, seasonal vegetables and a selection of dips (see the specials board for details).         

 Pork Fillet

    Medallions of pork served with braised red cabbage and apples, served with chive creamed potatoes and a cider cream sauce.      

    Duck Breast       

Roast Gressingham duck breast served with honey glazed carrots, parmentier potatoes and drizzled with a cherry sauce. 

 Chicken Breast   

    Baked chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped in pancetta, served on a bed of roast vegetables and olives and accompanied by potato wedges and pesto.   

    Vegetable and Herb Burger   

    Vegetable and coriander burger served in a toasted bun with a honey and chilli mayonnaise, accompanied by chips and salad garnish.

      Vegetable Tagine      

 Vegetable and sweet potato tagine served with coriander cous cous.  

 

 Grilled Aberdeen Angus Steaks

 Steaks are served with grilled vine tomatoes, wild mushrooms and chips.   

 

Desserts  

 Gingerbread Pudding   

 Sticky gingerbread pudding served with toffee sauce, vanilla ice-cream and seasonal berries.

 A rich chocolate torte served with Chantilly cream, raspberry coulis and berries.   

    Dessert Trio   

   Passionfruit crème brulee, iced white chocolate and orange parfait and a mango and passion fruit served with fruit coulis and berries.

   Raspberry and Milk Chocolate Cheesecake     

   Raspberry and milk chocolate cheesecake served with vanilla ice cream and berries.     

  Black Cherry Tiramisu  

     Classic tiramisu accompanied  by black cherries.

Apple Fritters

Cinnamon battered apple fritters served with a mixed spic ice cream and berries.
