The palate is beautifully round with herbaceous hints and gooseberry aromatics leading to a long and lingering, crisp finish Muscadet de Sèvre et Maine sur Lie, Château Haute Cariziere, Loire 2007 Very fresh and dry. Delicious ripe pear characters with aromatic notes and hints of almond, ideal with Scottish oysters Chablis Domaine de la Meuliere, Burgundy, France , 2007 Wonderful elderflower and cooking apple fruit aromas perfectly blended with a classic and distinctive mineral edge, which makes this Chablis so appealing Zingy, Ripe and Fruity Sauvignon Blanc, Mudhouse Marlborough, New Zealand, 2008 This wine does what it says on the tin! Packed with passion fruit, papaya, pineapple and lime Semillon Sauvignon Fonty’s Pool, Pemberton, Western Australia 2008 Zippy, ripe and slightly waxy lime and lemons characters are the trademark of this wine. Very fresh with a delicious tropical finish. Sancerre, Domaine de la Villaudiere, Loire, France, 2007 The true home of Sauvignon, along with Pouilly Fumé. A nose of cut grass gives way to typical gooseberry flavours, backed up with a slight hint of blackcurrant on the finish. Villa Wolf, dry Riesling, Pfalz, Germany 2007 Modern, dry, fruit driven German Riesling packed with delicious lime and honey characters. Crisp but very fruity Organic Unoaked Chardonay, Fonts des Prieurs, Languedoc, 2008 A beautifully balanced wine, fresh yet full and round in the mouth, with typical exotic and melon fruit characters Pinot Gris, Santa Celina Mendoza, Argentina, 2007 For those who like Pinot Grigio, this will more than meet with your expectations. With more intensity and juiciness than its Italian cousin, this wine is bursting with spiciness, ripe pears, and has a long finish. Viognier, Maurel VedeauLanguedoc, France 2008 Hard to pronounce but easy to drink, Viognier is this unmistakable grape variety that offers rich mouth feel, fresh, apricot and ripe peaches. Usually grown in warm areas like the South of France Rich, Creamy and Tropical Chardonnay, Camino Cellars, Monterrey, California 2007 Rich tropical fruit flavours like pineapple whilst maintaining a good balance with crisp acidity and lovely spicy finish Pouilly Fuissé, Dominique Cornin Burgundy, France, 2006 The area of Pouilly Fuissé is situated at the Souterhn tip of Burgundy where the warm climate ensures high levels of ripeness. This wine is very peachy and is also reminiscent of a warm apple pie with brioche and almond characters. The complex and mineral finish is superb. Fleurie, Domaine Lardy, Beaujolais, 2007 This light wine is very quaffable, particularly during the spring and summer. Soft, packed with raspberry and strawberries flavours with a light tannins finish Tinja Pinot Noir, Orange, New South Wales, Australia 2007 Soft, fruit driven medium bodied Pinot Noir, very slight hints of game and spice, ripe cherry finish Ripe, Spicy and Jammy Shiraz Five Heirs, Lourensford Estate, Stellenbosch, South Africa 2007 Berry fruit and spice melds seamlessly with layers of leather and mocha cream. Rioja Crianza, Bodegas Altanza, Spain 2005 A modern fruit driven Rioja without too much oak but with a lot ripe and juicy fruits and light oak. Intense but well balanced. Villa Vieja, Tempranillo Bonarda, Mendoza, Argentina, 2007/2008 Soft and approachable with juicy cherry and plum characters, excellent value for money. Barbera d’Alba, Marchesi di Barolo Piemonte, Italy 2006 From one of the most important growers in the world famous commune of Barolo, this Barbera has a lovely nose of warm cherries, spice and herbs. An ideal match for red meats. Meinert Pinotage, Devon Valley, South Africa, 2006 This is a fantastic Pinotage without the typical tarry, smokey aromas that you find in cheaper styles. Full bodied but juicy Petit Rimauresq Rouge, Côtes de Provence, France, 2007 A fruit driven blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, Carignan. Juicy, soft tannins showing delicious black fruits characters and a light spicy finish Corbieres Concertino, Languedoc, France 2006 Soft and spicy with lovely garigue herbs flavours, blackberry jam and soft tannins finish Ribera del Duero, Mesoneros de Castilla Roble, Valsotillo, Spain, 2006 Intense and concentrated flavours of coffee, spice and truffle, the tannins are soft but structured, long savoury finish Zinfandel, Francis Ford Coppola California, 2006 I love the smell of Napa Valley in the morning…. Remember the film? Zinfandel is apparently related to the spicy Primitivo grown in Southern Italy and the Italian connection does not stop there. Many Italian/American like the Coppola have carried on the tradition of wine growing Cabernet Sauvignon Classico Viña Leyda, Leyda Valley, Chile 2007 Lots of blackcurrant and red berry wrapped into a tight core of explosive fruit. A stylish and powerful classic. Château Haut Brisson, St Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France 2002 A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is what you expect from a wine of this appelation. Intense with juicy red fruit aromas, the silky, velvety tannins are backed up by complex aromas of light toast and vanilla.

and visit our sister establishment - The Marine Hotel, Stonehaven, is a popular harbour bar and restaurant with stunning views of one of Scotlands oldest harbours. Established in 1884 and now under the new ownership of Robert Lindsay.
We offer 2 public bars and an upstairs where we offer a dining experience to remember.
Seafoods and game dishes are our speciality. The bars offer extensive ranges of malt whisky and real ales.
Our recently refurbished restaurant is available to book in advance and it is advisable to book early at weekends.
